Gita Aminpour (Community Governor, Safeguarding)

I was an Underwriter and worked for two multi-national insurance brokerage firms as an account handler in the 1980s, working on a voluntary basis, at the Bahá'í World Centre in Haifa for many years, where I held a very senior position.  Since returning to the UK, I have worked, through the Temporary Employment Service, for the University of Cambridge in various roles. I am Company Secretary of the Trumpington Residents Association a volunteer at the Royal Papworth Hospital when needed and aide to an international educational imperative.

My family and I live in Trumpington.

James Hems (Community Governor, Health & Safety)

I am James, a resident of Trumpington. I am privileged to serve as a Governor.

As a Governor it is my intention to do what I can to support, enable and empower all learners and staff to thrive. The learning, development and experiences learners receive today will shape their future lives and the world tomorrow.

I was born in Cambridge, at the Rosie Hospital and can remember in later years looking out of the hospital windows and seeing fields where today we have an expanding Trumpington community. What that community feels like today and in the future is up to all of us. As one of the Governors,  I believe that I, working with others, can make a positive contribution to the college and the community.

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. For, indeed, that's all who ever have." Margaret Mead

Lauren Magilton (Community Governor, Pupil Premium)

My name is Lauren and I am delighted to be supporting Trumpington Community College in its journey over the next few years. I moved to Cambridge in 2012 for my undergraduate degree in English Literature at the University of Cambridge, and very much fell in love with the city. Despite having a tough time during my school years, I have gone on to gain degrees from both the University of Cambridge and the University of Oxford, and I very much hope to support and inspire the students of Trumpington Community College in their education journeys. I believe in encouraging students, no matter their background to achieve their full potential. As the link governor for Pupil Premium students, I hope to act as an ambassador and champion for students from disadvantaged backgrounds, encouraging pupils to ‘shoot for the moon’.

Prior to my current role at Cambridge University in their Education Quality and Policy Office, I have worked in fundraising for Newnham College, Murray Edwards College, and the central University and the Programme Management Office for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority.

Catherine Moulding (Parent Governor, SEND)

James O'Dell (Staff Governor)

My name is James O’Dell and I am a Humanities teacher, the Head of year 11 and the Geography lead at Trumpington Community College.  I am in my second year of teaching and I am thoroughly enjoying being part of a united and ambitious team.  I want to play a significant role in driving Trumpington forward to reach the goals that United Learning, the Senior Leadership Team and the Governing body have set out to achieve.  I already feel as though I have a firm grasp of the strengths and areas for development within the college and I will bring forward ideas of my own to help make Trumpington Community College the college that the community deserves.  I have a strong relationship with the Principal and I want to support him and the rest of the staff body to create a learning environment that we can all be proud of.  I am a creative thinker, a good listener and can work and communicate with a wide variety of people.  The overwhelming feeling of now being part of the Local Governing Board is excitement and I cannot wait to get started.
